Good Earth Wood Works has been providing custom kitchens and other high quality cabinetry since 1978. Good Earth is owned by John Busbin. John graduated from San Jose State University in 1972 and joined his father Buzz's cabinet business in San Francisco. In 1977, Buzz sold the California company and moved back to Charlotte starting Good Earth Wood Works at it's original location on South Blvd. at Woodlawn Road. John has managed the business since then, and purchased the company in 1993, after his father's retirement. The business had outgrown the old building and was relocated to a 9,000 sq. ft. facility on Foster Ave. John meets with customers and helps with design ideas, providing cost estimates. He produces shop drawings and schedules installations. Kerry handles payroll, insurance, payables, and accounting. Lewis Weeks is the shop foreman and supervises all production and new employee training. Robbie Kerns handles all shop engineering and maintenance, and finishing supervision. Installation services are provided by Kenny Eident of Interior Woods, with his crew Greg, Brett, and Tom. Other valued employees include Amy Brown, Shawn Brown, Wayne Brown, Kenny Robinson, Allyn Points, Randy Woolbright, David Gilbert, O'Neal Brown, Donnie Dillinger, Zack Welsh, Robert Rowland. Kaiya, the shop's German Shepard, is also an indispensable part of the team. Good Earth primarily produces frameless cabinets with traditional styling. Custom kitchens are the main product, and entertainment centers, bookcases and wall units, home offices, bath and laundry cabinets are also produced. Good Earth works with local remodeling contractors for the majority of their volume, and also supplies cabinets for five to eight new homes each year. Good Earth received "Charlotte's Best" magazines "Best Cabinetmaker" award in June 2000. Projects have been published nationally in "Better Homes and Gardens" and "Beautiful Baths", and locally in "City" magazine many times. Good Earth has been awarded "Best Kitchen" and "Best Bath" numerous times at the annual Remodelers Council awards. Good Earth is known for solid construction, beautiful finishes, quality detailing, competitive pricing, on time delivery, and professional installation. |
